About LegalLinks

LegalLinks is a free web service that helps people share links more safely. You paste one or more links, and we turn each one into a protected link. Anyone who opens it passes a short verification page first and, if you chose a password, has to enter it before they are sent on to the original address.

Why we built it

Links that are shared publicly are often copied by automated robots and scrapers, or end up in places their owner never intended. A protected link adds a simple barrier: a human check and an optional password. It also gives the owner one place to see all their links and how many people opened them.

What you can do here

• Protect many links at once by pasting them, uploading a text or CSV file, or loading a file from a web address.
• Add an optional password to any protected link.
• Manage, copy and delete your links from one dashboard, and see how many unique visits each link received.

What we do not do

We do not host the files or websites that protected links point to. We do not allow adult, illegal, pirated, harmful or misleading content, and we remove links that break our Terms of Use. Copyright owners can use our DMCA process to ask for removal.

How we handle your data

Visitor IP addresses are stored only as salted one-way hashes, and passwords are never stored in readable form. Our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy explain everything in plain language.
